For photo and camera shoots

Three-chip projectors form red, green and blue at the same instant on three separate imaging devices, so there is no colour wheel and no sequential colour for a camera to catch mid-cycle. A single-chip DLP paints the primaries one after another, and a stills camera or a fast shutter records that as rainbow banding across the frame. It is the reason a three-chip machine is the one to specify for in-camera backdrops, projected sets, product and fashion shoots, and anything that has to hold up on camera.

Frame rate still matters. Match the camera shutter to a whole multiple of the projected frame period, or run the projector at a rate that suits the camera, and rolling bars go away. We set that up on site.
